Cape Evening Optimist Endowed

Open to students with 60 or more credit hours completed when scholarship is awarded who are enrolled in a course of study leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Performing Arts degree. Applicants must have an overall 2.5 GPA and a 3.0 GPA in all completed performing arts. Recipient, under the supervision of the Chair of the Theatre and Dance Department, must teach a 75-minute performing arts class once a week during the semester to junior high students. Class size will be limited to a maximum of 18 students and will be held at Southeast Missouri State University. Students chosen to participate in the class will be selected by the Optimist Club of Cape Girardeau working in conjunction with the local school district. Scholarship recipient must attend at least one Cape Evening Optimist meeting each semester. Preference will be given to applicants who are members of Junior Optimist Octagon International (JOOI).
