Dr. Daniel MacLeay Endowed Foreign Language Research Award

The “Dr. Daniel MacLeay Endowed Foreign Language & Anthropology Research Award” was established in 2002 by Mrs. Brigitte Bollerslev; its goal is to support foreign language and anthropology majors and department faculty/staff in research or professional development activities. The award may be used by students and faculty/staff for summer research projects or for one (or more) course(s) released during the regular academic year to have additional time for scholarly research e.g., to complete a manuscript or to prepare for a conference paper. The award may also be used for travel relating to Department international programs.
All applicants must submit a Curriculum Vitae and a one-page outline of the research/professional development project they wish to pursue. Student applicants must submit transcripts and a letter of recommendation by a faculty of the Department of Foreign Languages & Anthropology.
Foreign language majors must have completed a minimum of 24 credits in a foreign language with a 3.00 GPA in that language.
In accordance with the department’s award policy, faculty applicants must be must be tenure-track; staff applicants must be full-time and must promise to remain in the employment of Southeast Missouri State University for one additional year following the grant or repay the amount of the grant. Similarly, student recipients must promise to remain enrolled at Southeast Missouri State University and take one additional course in their foreign language the semester following receipt of the grant or repay the amount of the grant.
