Winfred and Emilye Garner

Winfred Garner and his wife, Emilye, a Canadian, met in the service. Mr. Garner, a native of Dexter, operated movie theatres until selling them years later. Winfred received great enjoyment watching his son help others as a doctor and told Emilye that he, too, wanted to help others in need of medical care. After Winfred’s death in 2000, Mrs. Garner established the Winfred and Emilye Garner Memorial Healthcare Scholarship Fund to implement her late husband’s dream.
