William K. Nyberg

William Kel “Bill” Nyberg was born in Vicenza, Italy, and spent the first 12 years of his life in a variety of places in and outside of the United States as his father CMSgt. (Ret.) William A. Nyberg was transferred by the United States Air Force. Bill graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1980. He enlisted in the Air Force and served as a Security Forces member at Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, Hawaii, and at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. He left the active duty Air Force to attend Southeast Missouri State University in 1984 but remained in the Air Force Reserve. Shortly after graduating from Southeast, Bill was called to active duty during Desert Storm and served in Saudi Arabia. Bill moved to Denver, Colorado, in 1992 to pursue a career as a U.S. Treasury police officer at the Denver Mint. He served with distinction until his passing in 2011.
