Walter Davidson

Dr. Walter Davidson served as faculty and Chair in the Educational Leadership and Counseling Department. He was active in many state, regional, and national organizations including the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Division for Counselor Educators, the Missouri School Counselor Association, the Southeast Missouri School Counselor Association, the American Counseling Association, the American Counseling Association of Missouri, and the Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors. Dr. Davidson was a powerful advocate for the importance of counseling in schools and in the community and was the driving force behind the Licensed Professional Counselor designation in Missouri. He holds the first license issued in Missouri for professional Counselors – PPC # 001. Dr. Davidson was known and admired by many educators and counselors as someone who worked tirelessly to promote the counseling field for the good of all.
