This scholarship was created in memory of Dominic Hooper, a senior at Scott City High School. Dominic was a member of the National Honor Society, Pep Club, Theater Club, GAS Club, A+ program, was a four-year honor roll student, and was in the top 10% of his class. He was very active in sports and enjoyed playing football, basketball, baseball and weightlifting. Dominic loved life and lived each day to the fullest. He never met a stranger and always went out of his way to make sure everyone he saw was happy and smiling. He had such an infectious personality and had a very special ability to make friends with everyone he met. He loved spending time with his friends, whether it was playing on one of many different team sports, dunk ball, Frisbee golf, video games, listening to music, dancing or just hanging out.

Dominic was a wonderful, caring young man, a very driven person with a great sense of humor. His compassion for others and trust and faith in God was astonishing. His kind and generous heart was unending. He touched the lives of so many people from many different places and has continued to do so even after his untimely death. Through the gift of organ donation, Dominic’s legacy lives on in the lives of five individuals. He was accepted and registered to attend Southeast Missouri State University after graduation.
