Placid and George A. Schriever

Placid and George A. Schriever of New York City created this scholarship in honor of Mrs. Schriever’s father, Charles H. Daues. Mr. Daues was born in Cape Girardeau in 1878 and attended Cape Girardeau Public Schools. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1898, then known as the Normal School. Graduating from Washington Law school, Mr. Daues practiced law in Cape Girardeau and St. Louis. Later, he was elected presiding judge of the St. Louis Court of Appeals.
