Jerline Dossett

Jerline Dossett, daughter of Frank and Zora Meadow Dossett, was born in Paducah, Kentucky. She received a B. S. Degree in Education in 1942 from Murray State University, a Master of Arts Degree from George Peabody College for Teachers (now affiliated with Vanderbilt University) in 1942, and a Doctorate in Philosophy from Michigan State University. Jerline Dossett taught elementary education in Paducah, Kentucky, and served as an elementary principal before joining the faculty of Southeast Missouri State University in 1957. She served as Professor of Education for twenty-seven years until her retirement in 1986. During her tenure, Ms. Dossett received the 1981 College of Education Award for distinguished service and accomplishment. She is a member of and served as former president of Delta Kappa Society and the National Organization for Childhood Education. She was also an active member of the First Baptist Church.
