Dennis C. Seyer

Dennis C. Seyer was a Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance as well as scenic designer for Southeast Missouri State University theatre and dance productions. He received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Southeast Missouri State University, a Master of Arts degree in theatre from St. Louis University, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in theatre design from the University of New Orleans. He joined the faculty of the Speech Communication and Theatre Department at Southeast Missouri State University in 1977 serving as a scenic and lighting designer/technical director for more than 100 productions for the University at Forrest H. Rose Theatre. Dr. Seyer also served as a free-lance designer and theatre consultant as well as a profession stagehand (I.A.T.S.E.), working with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. He has served as guest scenic designer for the Huron (Ohio) Summer Playhouse, Jefferson College, Fontbonne College, and as scenic/lighting designer/stage manager for dance concerts at Keil Opera House, the Fox Theatre, and America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
