David Green

After graduating from William Chrisman High School in Independence, MO, Dr. Green earned his undergraduate degree from Central Methodist College in 1962. He then served as director of instrumental music in the Ralls County R-II School District for two years. He continued his studies at Wichita State University earning his Masters of Music Education in 1966. He then began his career at Southeast as instructor of music and associate director of the Golden Eagles Marching Band. He then earned his Corcot of Musical Arts degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1981. He had a tenure of thirty-three years at Southeast Missouri State University. Dr. David Green served in both the Music Department and the School of University Studies. He worked with every instrumental ensemble in the department, including the Golden Eagles Marching Band, the University Orchestra, the Jazz Ensemble, University Concert Band and the University Wind Ensemble. He was also a private instructor in clarinet, saxophone, oboe and bassoon. Dr. Green also taught Music History, Techniques and Music Appreciation. He was the Director of Planning and Assessment in the School of University Studies for six years. Dr. Green also served as principal clarinet with the Paducah Symphony Orchestra for sixteen year.
