Charles E. & Evelyn R. (Bollinger) Whipple Scholarship Fund

Charles (Gene) and Evelyn Bollinger Whipple of Wallula, Washington, were married on July 22, 1974, and were married for 39 years when Evelyn passed away in 2013. Gene continued to live in Wallula volunteering for Hospice House until his death in 2014.

Gene was born in Spokane, Washington, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving for 22 years until his retirement in 1980. He then worked for various police departments before retiring in 1996.

Evelyn was born in Bollinger County and enjoyed the ten years she spent with Gene during the last of his Marine Corps career. She and Gene enjoyed many years of traveling and camping throughout the western states after their retirement from the military.
