Bill and Shirley Shemwell Virdon

Shirley Virdon, native of Neelyville, Missouri, was an English major and Spanish minor, while attending Southeast Missouri State University. She graduated in May 1951 with a degree in high school education. She married professional baseball player, Bill Virdon, on November 17, 1951. They live in Springfield, Missouri, and have 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren. Bill still works as an instructor with the Pittsburgh Pirates during Spring Training.
