Anita M. Frick-Held

Donald T. Held received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Southeast Missouri State University in 1960 and his Master of Science from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in 1971. He is the husband of Anita M. Frick-Held. Donald and Anita married in November 1958, and both were students at Southeast. His entire career was with the Special School District of Saint Louis County as a Speech Pathologist and Area Coordinator through retirement. He served a four-year active enlistment in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. The G.I. Bill enabled his college education.

Lyman L. Frick, Jr., Anita Frick-Held’s brother received his Bachelor of Science in 1964 and his Juris Doctorate in 1966, both from Drake University. Lyman was a JAG officer in the active U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1966-1970. His military career continued as a JAG officer in the Missouri Air National Guard until retirement as a full Colonel and chief JAG officer. At the same time, he had an extensive career in trust and banking operations in Saint Joseph, Missouri, and was very active in civic affairs.

This scholarship is endowed in the memory of Anita M. Frick-Held, who received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Southeast in 1959.
